Call 911

A few weeks ago, I felt the need to go up to my local mountaintop to intercede in prayer for California because, sadly, she needs a divine intervention if she is going to survive.

So, I invited a couple of my prayer companions to join me in my prayer hike and we asked God to do a miracle in our state this coming year. It was glorious. I came off that mountaintop feeling like Moses!
Well, unfortunately, that feeling only lasted until bedtime. That evening, my mountaintop experience turned into a nightmare…literally.

I dreamt that my companions and I were driving down a mountain except this mountain was brown and desolate instead of lush and green. The sky was ominous. I knew in my dream that we had started down the mountain too late and it would soon be dark. Before me, the road split off into many different directions. Off in the distance, I could see the last of the cars driving away to safety but I could not figure out how to get there. Suddenly, our car died. We tried our cell phones but we had no service. We began to grow fearful and then I woke up. Instantly, I felt the need to pray and recite Psalm 91. I text my companions that morning and urged them to pray Psalm 91 over themselves, their families, and homes.

When we desire to go deeper and higher in our faith with Jesus, when we intercede in prayer for those in bondage to the enemy, or when we share the Gospel with those who are unsaved, the enemy will come in for a spiritual attack trying to rob and destroy us of our purpose. He will make us feel isolated, lost, distracted, and far from God. This was symbolized in my dream by the many roads leading me to confusion and my car dying and no cell-phone service.

Recently, I was studying Matthew chapters 1-2 where God spoke to Joseph in four dreams.
In the first dream (Matthew 1:20), an angel appeared to Joseph to explain that Mary was going to have a baby conceived by the Holy Spirit. God used this dream to reveal truth and purpose.
In the second dream (Matthew 2:13), an angel appeared to Joseph to warn him to flee from danger.
In the third dream (Matthew 2:19), an angel appeared to Joseph to give him instructions to move his family back to Israel.
In the fourth dream (Matthew 2:22), Joseph was fearful and he was warned of danger and told exactly where to move his family.
These four dreams give us an idea of how God speaks to us in our dreams. He can use our dreams to reveal truth, give us revelation, to instruct or guide us, or He can warn us of coming danger.

I believe my dream was a warning dream of a personal spiritual attack, but my Heavenly Father, in His unfailing love, gave me the means to protect myself. He told me to pray Psalm 91.

Interestingly, God had put it on my heart to gift famed pictures of Psalm 91 to all my friends and family for Christmas. I had an urgency in my heart for everyone I love to have this powerful prayer of protection in his or her home. I wrote them all a letter urging them to pray it out loud over themselves, their family, and their homes.

Many people are being warned in dreams and visions to pray Psalm 91. A very good friend of mine just had a dream where she was in her home in the mountains and it was dark and scary outside. She could see people outside her home and as she approached the door, on the window beside the door, people’s faces and hands appeared pressing in. They wanted to get her so she started screaming, “Call 911. Call 911. Call 911.” She woke her husband and kept repeating, “Call 911.” Later it was impressed upon her spirit that God was telling her in her dream to pray – to call out – Psalm 91:1
Psalm 91:1 (NLT)
Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

I believe this was another warning dream about the evils that are outside of God’s protective shelter. When we live inside the shelter of the Most High (represented by my friend being inside her home safe from the evil outside) God will protect us. God was impressing on my friend the need to share this dream with others.

I’m reading a great book called, Psalm 91 Real-Life Stories of God’s Shield of Protection and What This Psalm Means For You & Those You Love, by Peggy Joyce Ruth and Angelia Ruth Schum.  In the book they give amazing testimonies of people who have been miraculously saved from rape, death, natural disasters, catastrophes of war, and illness when they claim the promises of Psalm 91.
In the book, they write:
At a time when there are so many uncertainties facing us, it is more than comforting to realize that God not only knows ahead of time what we will be facing but also makes absolute provision for us. Someone once pointed out, “It is interesting that the world must have gotten its distress 911 number from God’s answer to our distress call – Psalm 91:1.” (page 110)

There is some divine reason why God is placing this Psalm of Protection on the hearts of many of His children at this time. Don’t take the warning lightly. Just like Joseph followed the instructions and warnings God gave him in his dreams, and led his family to safety, so we should heed God’s warning and instructions to us in Psalm 91.
God’s message is clear:
Live in My shelter and stay under My wings.
He also promises that if we love Him and know His name, He will:
Deliver us
Set us on high
Answer us when we call
Rescue us
Honor us
Reward us with long life and give us His salvation.

So, I don’t know about you, but I’m praying Psalm 91 over my family and home everyday! I don’t know what the future holds but I know who holds the future in His hands. I want to be protected by those hands!

May the LORD keep you under the shelter of His Wings.
Love,
Yolanda

Thank you to my good friend, Deborah, for painting these beautiful angel wings.  I pray they are blessing every home in which they are displayed with God's Word.

PRAYER OF PROTECTION
PSALM 91
Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
This I declare about the LORD:
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
He is my God, and I trust him.
For He will rescue me from every trap
and protect me from deadly disease.
He will cover me with His feathers.
He will shelter me with His wings.
His faithful promises are my armor and protection.
I will not be afraid of the terrors of the night,
nor the arrow that flies in the day.
I will not dread the disease that stalks in darkness,
nor the disaster that strikes at midday.
Though a thousand fall at my side,
though ten thousand are dying around me,
these evils will not touch me.
I will open my eyes, and see how the wicked are punished.
If I make the LORD my refuge, if I make the Most High my shelter,
no evil will conquer me; no plague will come near my home.
For He will order His angels to protect me wherever I go.
They will hold me up with their hands so
I won’t even hurt my foot on a stone.
I will trample upon lions and cobras;
I will crush fierce lions and serpents under my feet!
The LORD says, “I will rescue those who love Me.
I will protect those who trust in My name.
When they call on Me, I will answer;
I will be with them in trouble.
I will rescue and honor them.
I will reward them with a long life and give them My salvation.”
I pray this psalm of protection in Jesus Name. Amen.

Unleashing My Inner Dream Chaser

Every January, I celebrate the New Year and my birthday by unleashing something that has been bottled up inside me.
Sounds painful, I know. But it’s actually a good thing.
First, it was unleashing my inner bombshell where God released me from insecurity and gave me a spirit of boldness.
Then, it was unleashing my inner zombie slayer where God released me from a spirit of fear and gave me a spirit of courage. God is still working on this one since I tend to hold on to fear.
And, lastly unleashing my inner spirit-filled prayer warrior where God taught me how to armor up with spiritual weapons to fight spiritual battles.

These "unleashings" have occurred because God has set me free from bondages in my life that have held me back from running the course He has set before me. At the beginning of each year, God gives me the title of my New Year's blog post, which is my spiritual assignment for the year. These assignments have been used to grow my faith, to share the Gospel in new ways, and ultimately to draw me closer to Jesus.

December was drawing to a close and I had not received my spiritual assignment yet. I was a little bummed. Then, God gave me my spiritual assignment in a totally unexpected way.

A DREAM!

On December 23rd, I went to sleep with some concerns on my heart and a prayer on my lips. I asked the LORD whether he wanted me to share the Gospel at an upcoming event. I needed an answer from the LORD quickly so I asked him for a dream. And, low and behold, I got my dream.

I dreamt that I was watching three objects (a gold lampstand with 3 crosses, a pyramid, and the Jewish temple) ascending into the blue sky, almost like watching helium balloons rising. In my dream, I couldn’t quite make out the Jewish Temple so I asked the LORD to slow down the ascension so I could make it out.  Then I woke up.
I woke up with such excitement because God revealed to me what I am supposed to unleash this year. I am supposed to unleash my INNER DREAM CHASER!

You see, the number 8 in Biblical terms is considered “New Beginnings”. This is going to be the year of new beginnings. We are going to see miracles and wonders on the earth. God is going to pour out His Spirit like He promised in Joel 2:28-29 and His children will prophecy through dreams and visions.
I've been reading my scripture and hearing sermons lately that have helped me understand my assignment for the year based on this dream. I believe God gave me a prophetic dream - a glimpse of the future. I believe He was letting me know that time is getting short. We are in the last hours of the last days.

Through the Jewish Temple in my dream, God was giving me a glimpse of the hour on the prophetic clock. Jerusalem has moved center stage on the world scene. All this talk of nations moving their embassies to Jerusalem has made Jerusalem a "burdensome stone among all people" (Zechariah 12:2-3). The temple in my dream is also a symbol of the 7-year peace treaty that will be signed soon allowing the 3rd temple to be built. When this happens it will mark the start of the 7-year Tribulation period.

The pyramid in my dream represents my assignment. God is raising up Josephs this year. Joseph, from his youth, had prophetic dreams. Joseph had been sold by his brothers into slavery and he was held captive in Egypt. During his captivity, Joseph worshipped and relied on the LORD and the LORD showed him favor. God gave Joseph the ability to interpret dreams and God used him to save the people from famine. What Joseph's brothers had intended for evil, God used for good. Joseph was able to save the Egyptians and his family during those 7-years of famine. Joseph was given a warning that there would be 7-years of plenty before the years of famine, so he used that time wisely to prepare. (Genesis 39-42) I believe that is why God is calling up Joseph's in these last days. I believe God is going to give His children dreams and visions so that we will know how to prepare spiritually and physically for the coming famine and dark days. Whether that famine is literal or spiritual, I don't know. The key is to press in close to the LORD in these days like Joseph did. He prayed and asked God for wisdom. We must seek the LORD in these days. Ask for His wisdom. We must read our Bible and know the Word so we can rightly interpret the dreams we are given.

Lastly, the gold lampstand with the 3-crosses represents the church - the Bride of Christ. God is pouring out His oil, which is the anointing of the Holy Spirit, on the church lifting and lighting her up. She will glow brightly as a beacon of hope in a dark world that will be thrown into confusion, fear, and distress. We are the church! God wants to pour out His oil on us. He wants to light us up, raise us up. He wants us to shine brightly, to share the Gospel of salvation, to announce His soon return, and to use wisely these days of plenty to prepare for what is coming.

So, I'm not sure how God wants me to prepare. That is why in 2018 God is unleashing my Inner Dream Chaser. I'm asking for more dreams and more revelation of His Word. I'm seeking more of Jesus and His Holy Spirit! And, I'm knocking on the door of heaven because I want to soak in God's Presence. God has promised us that whoever asks, receives. Whoever seeks, finds. And, whoever knocks, the door will be opened. (Matthew 7:7-8)

So, here I am LORD, use me. Unleash my dreams and visions. Give me Your wisdom and revelation to interpret them and help me to be a Joseph among my people for such a time as this.
In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.

Love,
Yolanda

Renewing Your Mind by Fanning the Flame

A very good friend of mine is suffering from dementia and early stages of Alzheimer’s, which are cruel diseases that steal the memories and mind of the most brilliant and wise among us. Years ago, before I knew to intercede with spiritual weapons, I lost someone close to me to dementia.  This time I refuse to let my friend go without a spiritual fight!

While praying for my friend yesterday, the LORD put it on my heart to go to the store and buy him coconut oil. “For some, it has proven to slow the progression of Alzheimer’s.” Watch video: http://www1.cbn.com/video/coconut-oil-touted-as-alzheimers-remedy.

Also, the LORD wanted me to tell him to pray in tongues for 30 minutes a day. I know some may think that sounds crazy. However, a study by a brain specialist Carl R. Peterson, M.D. showed that:
Through research and testing he found out that as we pray in the Spirit, or worship in the Spirit, (our heavenly language) there is activity that begins to take place in our brain. As we engage in our heavenly language the brain releases 2 chemical secretions that are directed into our immune systems giving a 35 to 40 percent boost to the immune system. This promotes healing within our bodies. Amazingly this secretion is triggered from a part of the brain that has no other apparent activity in humans and is only activated by our Spirit led prayer and worship.*
1 Corinthians 14:4 says, “The one who speaks in tongues edifies himself.” To edify means to strengthen and build up. When we pray in tongues it strengthens and builds up our bodies, our minds, and our spirit.

I know that this exhortation was from the LORD for my friend because I felt an urgency in my spirit to obey, and when I told his wife she confirmed it by saying, “You are the second person to tell us that today. Another friend just told him to pray in tongues for 30 minutes.”

I believe this message from God was not only for my friend, but for all of us.
In this time of confusion and darkness in the world, it is time to fan into flame the gracious gift of God, [that inner fire—the special endowment] which is in you. (Timothy 1:6 AMP)

If you don’t have the gift of tongues, it is time to stop fearing it. God has not given us a Spirit of fear and He promises us that every good and perfect gift is from above. In Joel chapter 2, God said that in these Last Days, He is going to pour out His Spirit on His children. We are going to have visions, dreams, and see supernatural miracles on the earth. God wants to use us, in these last days, to do greater things than He did when he walked on the earth so that we can point people to Jesus. He wants us to tell people that He is coming back soon to set up His Kingdom on earth. He wants His people equipped and ready for the mission field because a great harvest of souls is coming this year!

There’s a great book called, The Hidden Power of Speaking in Tongues, by Mahesh Chavada. He gives a great analogy of believers being in a running race and hitting the wall of fatigue. He said that many athletes “will stop when they hit that wall, rather than pressing beyond it to the place of second wind. The Spirit of God is our wind, the divine ‘breath’ that enables us to go the distance. Along the way, we can help ourselves to many spiritual ‘power bars’ to boost our energy level. The Word of God is a power bar. Prayer is a power bar. The blood of Jesus is a power bar. The anointing of the Spirit is a power bar. Speaking in tongues is a power bar. Fellowship with other believers is a power bar. All of these help us stay connected to the LORD and to each other as we ‘run the race that is set before us.”

So, the race set before my friend suffering from Alzheimer's, and before all of us, is not easy. There will be challenges and pitfalls along the course. We are going to hit walls and want to quit. But, God has offered us these power bars. He is extending His hand from Heaven and saying, “Take it My child. Eat of it. I am the Bread of Life and in Me you are more than conquerors.”

It’s up to us to grab hold of those bars and keep running!

At the end of this blog post I have posted an awesome video of Sid Roth explaining the benefits of praying in tongues.** He will lead you through a prayer at the end to receive the gift. Make 2018 the year you set fear aside and ask for every good and perfect gift. Our Father in heaven wants us to fan the flame of these gifts, so shouldn't we obey?

Love,
Yolanda

I wrote this scripture prayer for my friend, but you can pray it over yourself to renew and strengthen your mind. When we pray scripture we are claiming and proclaiming God’s promises for ourselves.

PRAYER FOR RENEWED MIND
LORD GOD, thank you for the many blessing you have bestowed on me.
Thank you for forgiving my sins and for the gift of the cross that has given me salvation and eternal life with you in heaven.
Thank you for the power of your blood that covers me in your righteousness and protects me. Thank you for your Holy Spirit that continually renews the spirit of my mind and for giving me a new self with a regenerated and renewed nature, created in God’s image, in the righteousness and holiness of the truth [living in a way that expresses to God my gratitude for my salvation] (Ephesians 4:23-24 AMP)
Your promise to Isaiah is the same promise to me because you show no favoritism among your children.
Isaiah 46:6 promises that you will be my God throughout my lifetime-until my hair is white with age. You made me, and you promised to care for me, and to carry me along and save me.
You have given me the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16), which includes clarity of thought, sharp and attune to the will of God.
You have given me your wisdom. Your Word says that if we ask for more wisdom you will give us more wisdom. Your Word promises that wisdom will multiply our days and add years to our life (Proverbs 9:11).
So, I pray, LORD, give me more wisdom and spiritual insight so that I can share your Gospel and further your kingdom all the days of my life.
You blessed Moses with 120 years of life and his eyes never dimmed nor did his strength lessen. (Deuteronomy 34:7) LORD, I ask for the same health and vitality to do the work you have called me to do.
LORD, you said, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. I will reward them with long life and give them my salvation.” (Psalm 91:14-16)
LORD, I love you and I trust you, so I claim your promise in Isaiah 40:31 that I will find new strength. I will soar high on wings like eagles. I will run and not grow weary and I will walk and not grow faint.
LORD, I have hidden your Word in my heart, for in them is life and health to my flesh. (Proverbs 4:20-22).
Jesus, you are the Great Physician and there is healing in your wings (Malachi 4:2) so I will abide in the shelter of your wings and find healing and rest.
In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.
