Dad's Matter - Father's Day Poem

DAD’S MATTER - POEM

One day I met a little girl
Looking sad and kind of blue
I called her over for a hug
And said, “Little One, what can I do?”

She climbed up into my lap
Her weary head on my shoulder
I prayed, “Lord, what should I do?”
He said, “Just be My arms today and hold her.”

Soon my Little One spoke
So quietly that I strained to hear
“Why doesn't Daddy love me anymore?"
Her broken heart was more than I could bear.

“Daddy’s always love their little girls.”
Was all that I could say….
But she just slipped off my lap, turned and said
“Then why didn't my Daddy stay?”

Looking older than her little years
She scampered off to play
GOD help Daddies know how much they matter
Because YOUR little ones everywhere are crying while they pray.

Psalm 128:1-4 (NLT)
How joyful are those who fear the Lord all who follow his ways!
You will enjoy the fruit of your labor.  How joyful and prosperous you will be!

Your wife will be like a fruitful grapevine, flourishing within your home.

Your children will be like vigorous young olive trees as they sit around your table.

That is the Lord’s blessing for those who fear him.
