CHILDREN OF THE LIGHT

Now concerning the End Times and how and when this will all happen, my brothers and sisters in Christ...
You know quite well that the day of the LORD'S return will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night...
BUT
You aren't in the dark about these things, dear brothers and sisters, and you won't be surprised when the day of the LORD comes like a thief. For you are all children of the light and of the day; we don't belong to the darkness and night. 
SO, be on guard, not asleep like the others!
Stay alert and clear headed!
Night is the time when people sleep and drinkers get drunk.
But let us who live in the light be clearheaded, protected by the armor of faith and love, wearing as our helmet the confidence of our salvation!
For God chose to save us through our LORD Jesus Christ, not to pour out His anger on us. Christ died for us so that, whether we are dead or alive when He returns, we can live with Him forever. 
So encourage each other and build each other up with these words...
Now may the GOD of Peace make you holy in every way, and my your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our LORD Jesus Christ comes again. God will make this happen, for He who calls you in is Faithful!

LORD, thank you for dying on the cross for my sins, and through Your death on the cross I was given the helmet of salvation that I can wear with confidence. Help me to hold my shield of faith close to my heart to protect me from the fiery arrows of the evil one. Give me courage to stand my ground and be on guard, alert, and clearheaded. Help me to encourage others with Your Word.

Good Night Bedtime Prayer

Now I lay me down to sleep.
I pray the LORD my soul to keep.
If I should die before I wake,
I thank the LORD my soul He'll take.
To be in Your Presence, LORD, is my heart's desire,
For the evils of this world surely tire.
But, if I should live for another day,
I pray the Lord to guide my ways.
Help me, LORD, to do what is right.
May I always keep your Word within my sight.
FATHER, to You and in Jesus' name I pray,
You have guarded me all the day;
Safe I am while in Your sight,
Safely let me sleep tonight.
Bless my friends and family, Jesus, the whole world bless;
Comfort us in our distress.
Keep me ever in Your sight;
So to all I say good night.
